Rules and Expectations
Rules:
Take care of yourself
Take care of our classroom
Take care of each other
-My rules are based on a program called Responsive Classroom. This was a training I attended years ago that spoke to my heart. A "responsive classroom" places emphasis on developing relationships with students, encouraging responsibility for one's own actions, and establishing an atmosphere of belonging. In using those 3 rules, all "infractions" that typically occur in a classroom are easily addressed and corrected.
Expectations:
Students will follow the three "take care of" rules.
*See how simple those three rules make things? If you are taking care of yourself, you are being respectful, timely, prepared, etc. If you are taking care of our classroom, all materials are being used appropriately, books are covered, and furniture is being used safely. If you are taking care of others, you are quiet while others are speaking, keeping your hands/feet/body to yourself, etc.
As with all other aspects of my classroom, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to contact me.
